The $10.00 Liberty gold coin was minted only after a thirty-four year interim of other gold coins of the same value. The top surface of the coin portrays Lady Liberty with her hair raised in a tight bun. The Liberty coin is sometimes referred to as the Coronet, because Lady Liberty is wearing a coronet engraved with the term, 'Liberty.' Surrounding Lady Liberty's head are thirteen stars and the date of the issue.
