The rarest of the gold dollar types, the Type 2 Indian Head Gold Dollar portrays Miss Liberty wearing an adorned Indian headdress on the front side, and a wreath surrounding the denomination and date on the back of the coin. The changes between Type 1 and Type 2 dollar coins can be seen in the enlargement a 2mm diameter. The Type 2 Gold Dollar was only minted between from1854 to 1856, because the design was flawed.
